Welcome to the fourth installment of our employee spotlight series! We’d like to take a moment and introduce you to Erin Bartynski (soon to be Erin Weitzel), Director of Social Media here at ZOG Digital.
Erin’s a content and social media marketing expert. She has nearly a decade of experience connecting brands to their audiences, from fashion houses to food and beverage giants. She thrives in the ever-changing trends of media and loves staying one creative step ahead.
When did you first join the ZTeam and what was your starting position?
I started working at ZOG Digital in March 2015 as a content and social media strategist.
What is your biggest accomplishment at work?
I’d say it’s a tie between working to develop a client’s successful influencer marketing campaign or Halloween 2016, when my dog, Carl, won the costume contest. He was dressed like a triceratops.
Do you have a morning mantra or routine and if so, what is it?
Hitting the snooze button and coffee. Cold brew saves lives. I keep telling myself I’ll start doing yoga in the mornings … I’ll let you know if it ever happens.
What fictional place would you most like to go?
It’s a tie between Wonderland and Gatsby’s mansion.
What’s your favorite book or movie – why?
Harry Potter for life. Books over movies.
What’s your go-to Phoenix activity?
Probably somewhere with great food, drinks, and music. Anywhere with that combination, you’ll find me. Otherwise, if it’s too hot, you’ll find me in a pool, and if the weather’s nice, I’ll be hiking.
What’s the last song you were listening to?
Chamakay by Blood Orange. If you haven’t listened to it, you should.
How did you wind up in digital marketing?
I was a journalism major in college, but my first internship during school ended up being at a small independent music/media company to help with their social media marketing and outreach. I followed that with another social media marketing internship at the local TV news station, and from there I was hooked and decided to make social media my career.
What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
How to make money flipping furniture online. It’s no joke.
Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what is it?
Well, I’m not sure if this is a talent or simply a hobby, but I weave.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would those be?
Curious, optimistic, and hungry.
